Vitex Agnus Castus (also called Monks Pepper, Chaste Tree Berry). This Mediterranean herb has been used for centuries to help maintain a balanced hormonal system in both females and males.
- Vitex Agnus Castus (seed) also known as Chaste Tree Berry & Monks Pepper
- Horses: 10-15 grams daily (there is no need to grind this seed up before use)
- Dogs: palatability is likely to be an issue due to the size of the seed. We recommend using Vitex agnus castus tincture instead
** NB It is impossible to provide a generic scoop size with the straight herbs as they vary in density depending on whether the herb is in cut root, seed, flower, or leaf form. For further research on using straight herbs for animals there are many good books available including Hilary Self's "A Modern Horse Herbal".
